Employee Experience

Employee experience (EX) covers the full set of perceptions an employee has of their employer, from first recruitment touchpoint to exit. It includes communications, tools, work environment, leadership and recognition.

Definition

Employee experience is the holistic view of how employees perceive their employer. It extends beyond classic HR into tools, communications, physical and digital workplace, leadership and recognition.

The Five Phases

Recruitment and application, onboarding (first 90 days), ongoing employment and development, critical moments such as conflict or transformation, and offboarding. Every phase shapes the overall impression.

Measurement via eNPS

The Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) is the most common metric. Staff are asked how likely they are to recommend their employer on a 0 to 10 scale. Pulse surveys every four to six weeks have largely replaced annual surveys.
