Consultation and co-determination
Surveys, announcements and a full audit trail.
The UK has no Betriebsrat. Instead, ICE Regulations 2004 give staff consultation rights, ACAS Codes shape disciplinary processes and the Employment Rights Bill 2025/2026 is reshaping union access. teamly is built to operate within all three.
The Information and Consultation of Employees Regulations apply to employers with 50 or more staff. Employees can request an Information and Consultation Agreement; the threshold is 2 percent of the workforce (minimum 15, maximum 2,500). Significant workplace changes, including new technology, trigger consultation rights. Failure to consult can attract penalties up to £75,000.
ACAS Codes cover disciplinary, grievance, flexible working and the new right to request predictable terms. Tribunals can adjust awards by ±25 percent depending on Code compliance. Documented policy delivery via teamly\'s app is a useful audit trail.
Under Schedule A1 of TULRCA 1992, unions can obtain bargaining rights via CAC ballot. The Employment Rights Bill 2025/2026 lowers thresholds and adds digital workplace access rights. teamly supports gated union channels with neutral, audit-logged communication.
Read-receipts used as performance pressure
Read receipts are aggregated only. Individual read data is never exposed for performance management; documented in the rollout policy.
Covert location tracking
teamly does not collect GPS or device location. Optional features like shift check-in use manual confirmation, never silent tracking.
Mandatory app use without work phone
Mandatory use only on work-issued devices or with explicit consent. Sanction-free alternative for staff without smartphones (kiosk terminal, paper notice).
Personal and work data mixed
teamly runs in a separate app container. No mixing with personal data or apps. Clear technical separation.
No consultation on later features
The rollout template includes a change-control clause: new features require representative consultation, with an escalation path defined.
Opaque DPA and sub-processors
teamly publishes a standard DPA with a clear TOM appendix and a public sub-processor list, all in plain English.
Early information to representatives
Brief ICE reps, union officials and any staff forum before vendor selection. Define joint requirements. Saves weeks of negotiation later.
Invite reps to vendor meetings
teamly offers a dedicated rep briefing covering DPA, TOMs and the data-protection design. Reps walk away with answers, not concerns.
Template ICA as a starting point
teamly provides a UK ICA template. It is a negotiation starting point, not a take-it-or-leave-it.
Pilot with documented analytics rules
Start with one department. Document what gets measured and what does not. Reps are part of the pilot group.
Rollout with training
Align training with reps. Document pilot questions. Schedule quarterly review meetings with reps as part of the change-control clause.
What HR, legal teams and employee reps ask most often.
30 minutes, your industry, your real questions. Alexander, Maximilian or Michael listen first. If it fits, the demo with all your decision-makers comes next.
