Where exactly is teamly data hosted?
Production data sits in certified data centres in Germany (primary in Falkenstein, secondary in Frankfurt am Main). Both are ISO 27001 certified. No sub-processors outside the EU touch employee data.
Is the EU-UK data adequacy decision still valid in 2026?
Yes. The European Commission renewed the UK adequacy decision in December 2025 for a further six years. EU to UK and UK to EU transfers remain straightforward as a result.
What if adequacy is withdrawn in the future?
teamly customers fall back to UK-EU Standard Contractual Clauses with no architecture change needed. Our sub-processor list and security posture are already designed for this fallback.
What is the US CLOUD Act and why does it matter?
The US Clarifying Lawful Overseas Use of Data Act (2018) compels US-based vendors to hand over data to US authorities, regardless of where the data sits. Even EU hosting by a US vendor falls under this. teamly is a European company without a US parent or subsidiary, so the CLOUD Act does not apply.
Is UK-only hosting required for UK employers?
No. Under the renewed adequacy decision, EU hosting (such as Germany) is fully usable for UK employers without additional safeguards.
Is Irish-only hosting available for Irish customers?
Yes, on request for Enterprise tier customers. Default EU hosting in Germany (primarily Falkenstein) already satisfies Irish DPC expectations.
What about NHS or public-sector procurement?
NHS bodies and most UK public-sector buyers accept EU hosting under the adequacy decision. Specific NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit alignment is supported on request.
